Europe, Estonia based telematics provider is applying their market expertise of connecting more than 200 000 e-scooters worldwide by launching and testing their own e-scooter in their backyard in Tallinn, under a local brand. The launch took place 19.05.2020. The e-scooter is developed and produced in Europe, Estonia and specially tailored for the shared mobility use-case.
COMODULE e-scooter is built with steel and is 92% recyclable after its lifetime of 5 years is over. Only clean energy is used to build it and it is manufactured from 42% recycled materials. With its unique swappable dual battery design, it has a range of 40 kilometres (25 miles). Its top speed and safety equipment can be customized to local regulations.
The e-scooter itself is very good to ride. It is equipped with large pneumatic tires, a wider standing area (can ride feet parallel to each other), wider handlebar and lower centre of gravity for more comfort and stability especially in the rain and on uneven terrain. In addition, the braking distance of the e-scooter is significantly shorter than the market standard.
“As with different car brands, e-scooters have different levels of quality and comfort. Our scooter is like the Volvo of the car industry, safe and durable” said Kristjan.
COMODULE connects light electric vehicles to the internet to enable new mobility services. The company manufactures and offers electronic telematics hardware, mostly for fleet operators and vehicle manufacturers. COMODULE has connected over 200 000 e-scooters and has helped to launch fleets in over 60 cities worldwide.
Using its market knowledge, COMODULE has now developed its own connected vehicle for the shared mobility use-case. “We are all so excited to be able to test our precious Co-Scooter in our backyard under a local brand “Tuul” in order to improve and develop it further. At the moment the scooter is not available for other markets; our goal is to quickly test it in a smaller market, so that it will be ready to scale when the global situation has normalised” said Kristjan.
