About the Role As the Head the Neuroscience team you will lead the development of leading edge capabilities and technologies which provide consumer-relevant benefits through essential knowledge and methods from the fields of Consumer neuroscience and Cognitive psychology . You will Develop and execute research programs towards consumer perceivable benefits based on fragrance design. You Will: Manage the Neuroscience team to accomplish our goals and corporate strategy. Perform exploratory Research to lead new projects within Fragrance and Health and Well-Being Lead in the development of innovative and consumer appropriate methodologies and technologies Identify and build collaborative links with external academic and other strategic research partners Presentations and publication of scientific ideas and findings to a range of specialist and non-specialist audiences Work with Patents team to ensure appropriate protection of all Intellectual Property and be alert to all opportunities to develop IP and protect inventions You Have: Ideally 5+ years post-doctoral experience, preferably in a commercial environment Experience of brain measurement techniques (e.g. EEG, fMRI or others) with associated programming skills (e.g. MATLAB) Knowledge of R&D fragrance/flavours/FMCG industry; desirable to have experience in this field. 5+ years project management experience Expertise in neuroscience is essential; olfaction would be a distinct advantage Excellent organisational and team-working skills Experience with research projects collaborating across different departments and teams Efficient problem-solving skills and the ability to flexibly work through complex problems Creative and analytical thinking, with sound scientific judgment and evaluation Experience developing methodologies using psychological and neuroscientific approaches that can be used to characterize intrinsic perfume properties and translate them into consumer relevant insights relating to enhanced fragrance experiences.
