LeanIX was founded by Jörg Beyer and André Christ in 2012. Prior to founding LeanIX, Jörg Beyer and André Christ have both worked in various IT Management Positions i.e. as CIO at Deutsche Post. In the first 3 years the company was bootstrapped and grew without external funding thanks to the first product "LeanIX" which was first released in October 2012. In February 2015 Capnamic Ventures and Iris Capital invested USD 2.5 Mio (EUR 2.2 Mio) in a Series A financing round.
