In AMS our role is to ensure our customers gain the maximum advantage from their data. We are involved at all stages of the data lifecycle from the initial gathering & processing stage, through the analysis phase, leading to actionable outputs & advice. Our aims are to ensure: that starting data is of the highest quality; that it is quickly and efficiently processed into clear, meaningful information; that we extract deeper insight from it; and that we provide robust, data-led advice and take sound, evidence-based actions.
We have a strong pedigree in sensor design, data analysis & processing, and data fusion. We are at the cutting edge for designing tools, software and automation techniques that enable the rapid and timely transfer of relevant data and information. We also deal in information exploitation techniques, for real-world use but also in the fields of simulation and the design of synthetic environments. We develop and use numerical and mathematical models for a wide range of engineering and business applications.
Developing and testing new algorithms for radar target tracking.
A radiometer is a passive device that measures the power of the electromagnetic radiation emitted by a scene. Radiometers operating in the mm wave bands can be used to form images that have interesting properties (compared to thermal imagery formed in other wave bands) and can be used to detect and track target objects. This project is about developing and testing algorithms for detecting and tracking targets in mm Wave imagery.
Who we are looking for:
Achieved or on track to achieve a minimum of 2.1 in a relevant degree.
A person with a strong maths and/or physics background, ideally with an interest in signal processing.
Any experience of Matlab and/or Python would be a bonus.
