The role of Director, Artificial Intelligence Delivery is responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of a portfolio of AI projects across R&D. Maintaining an oversight over the activities of the AI and Analytics group, and coordinates with data scientists, AI scientists and R&D partners to develop solutions to a multitude of sophisticated problems. Ensuring that the AI/data science solutions are well crafted and structured, and that the portfolio of activities is in line with the department’s strategic priorities.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
You will support and be responsible for the delivery of projects for the AI and Analytics organisation.
Engagement with R&D leaders to develop analytical opportunities, including in TAs such as neuroscience, as well as shared services such as DevOps, CPSS, CMO, BPD and Discovery Sciences.
Accountable for the portfolio and delivery of projects/programmes on time and on budget for DS&AI
Agree project plans including activities, resources, costs, roles, responsibilities and quality assurance.
Support data science Tiger Teams in the engagement and delivery of their projects (roadmap, progress, partners, etc).
Coordinate with other areas on interdependencies, including IT, Data Office and Data Infrastructure and Tools organizations
Follow project work plans and recommends revisions as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements
Manage relationships with key business partners to ensure business requirements are optimally captured and committed to project objectives
Run interdependencies between programmes and ensure successful delivery and co-ordination of workstreams
Lead all aspects of the development of strategic risk analysis and subsequent control plans for programmes and actively uses these to assess the effect of changes in terms of risks, costs, timescales and resources; involves other organisations/partners when vital
Ensure that impact and changes resulting from projects/programmes are effectively communicated to the business
Data Science, Analytics and AI expertise
Expertise and experience in AGILE management
Experience of leading large sophisticated projects/programmes or in a similar role
Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to influence at senior level
Experience of working with third party suppliers
Experience of working application of policies, procedures and guidelines
