As part of the directorate of Planning, Performance and Strategic change, we are seeking an Associate Director to lead the development of data governance and oversee our statutory data returns across the University. You will be responsible for developing and implementing improved arrangements for the management and governance of the University’s student data as well as ensuring that the University adheres to regulatory requirements for the provision of student data to the Office for Students and Higher Education Statistics Agency.
This role comes at a time of evolution for the University as we seek to align and consolidate our approaches to data quality, governance and business intelligence through the creation and implementation of a Business Intelligence Strategy, enabled through strong partnerships across the organisation, and appropriate technological platforms.
Working closely with the Chief Business Intelligence Officer and the Associate Director for Insight and Analytics, this is an exciting opportunity to join a committed and ambitious team and contribute to the continuing development of the University’s data culture and maturity.
An understanding of compliance with higher education statutory data collection requirements is essential along with experience of developing and implementing data curation and data governance arrangements in a large organisation. You will also have strong interpersonal, relationship management and influencing skills and enjoy the opportunities to work collaboratively across the University enabling colleagues in multiple departments to use data to achieve the university’s strategic ambitions.
This role is available on a permanent basis. Hours of work are full-time (36.25 hours per week); however applications are also welcome from candidates wishing to work part-time (minimum 30 hours per week).
