This short term post will work with the Director of ICLT (Institute of Creative Leather Technologies) to develop a strategic marketing plan to increase the profile of services offered by ICLT to outside business’. This will involve developing new and innovative ways to promote our products to a range of markets in an ever-competitive marketplace. The role will explore all modes of marketing including the institute web site and social media (including B2B) and the development of a customer database.
The role plays an important part in maintaining the longer term success and sustainability of the Institute.
The post will require a person with proven experience in the marketing of commercial services to a range of industries. You will develop an effective, ambitious and measurable marketing plan to be implicated and driven by ICLT.
Duties and responsibilities
•To provide strategic marketing expertise and planning skills to reach out to key stakeholders and new potential commercial customers.
•To work alongside the Director of the ICLT and provide professional support and development with this new Institute / business interface.
•To develop an effective, ambitious and measurable annual marketing plan for a specific portfolio of services.
•To develop innovative ways to promote our portfolio of services to a range of markets and provided fully costed recommendations to deliver these plans.
•To monitor and manage the performance of the B2B marketing activities against agreed SMART objectives and advise on Marketing Impact Reports to key internal stakeholders on a B2B basis.
•To develop compelling content for a range of digital platforms, including the University website and communications to prospective commercial customers.
•Monitor and approve development opportunities.
•Plan resources (human and capital).
•Promote a positive health, safety and environmental culture and manage health and safety performance.
•The post holder will be expected to undertake other responsibilities and tasks as reasonably requested by the Director of the ICLT.
Skills and experience
Educated to Degree level, and/or relevant demonstrable work experience.
Relevant formal training - CIM/CAM Diploma. (Desirable)
Marketing Masters qualification. (Desirable)
Demonstrate an understanding of HR policies and procedures.
Ability to identify and undertake vital conversations appropriately.
Ability to delegate appropriately.
Track record of experience and success in similar or related role.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proven project management skills to deliver a complex and demanding workload.
Proven analytical and problem-solving capability to be able to interpret data and market research.
