As a Registered Veterinary Technician on our beautiful campus in San Rafael, you'll work hands on with our dogs, maintaining their optimal health in their journey to become successful guide dogs and beyond. Working with sweet, well-behaved dogs and puppies Working alongside professional and fun coworkers Developing relationships with appreciative clients without having to ever discuss finances; all of our services are provided free of charge Supporting veterinarians who are committed to an exceptional quality of care Being part of an organization with an incredible mission Working in a clinic where technical staff is valued and treated well Key responsibilities include: Inducing and monitoring anesthesia, and developing individualized anesthetic plans Performing and interpreting in-house lab tests, including but not limited to, cytology, microbiology, parasitology, hematology, blood chemistry, urinalysis, and necropsy Assisting veterinarians during appointments (greet and room patients, clean exam rooms, record entries, and help keep the vet on schedule) Maintaining and cleaning surgical, dental, endoscopic, laparoscopic, and other technical equipment Assisting with all aspects of laparoscopy equipment set up, break down, and instrument handling, including surgical assisting The qualifications you'll need: California RVT license in good standing Associate's degree in Veterinary Technology or equivalent from an AVMA-accredited program 3+ years of position-related experience Skills and knowledge necessary for dental procedures (e.g. prophylactic cleaning and polishing, chart dentition, dental extractions within the scope of an RVT, and digital radiography) What sets us apart?
