Position Purpose: Multiply the success of client breeding programs by producing embryos from their donor cows and pregnancies in their recipient cows. Ensure disease and trauma are minimized when embryos are harvested from donors and transferred into recipients. Monitor the general health and reproductive fertility in resident cows while contributing to a positive working environment, delivering services which exceed customer expectation. Key Responsibilities: Flush and transfer bovine embryos in the clinic and on farms. Perform ultrasound guided transvaginal ovum pickup procedures for bovine IVF embryo production. Review and design superovulation and synchronization protocols for donors and recipients. Evaluate pregnancy status in recipients post-implant using ultrasonography to: Evaluate the gender in embryo transfer and in-vitro fetuses. Evaluate the number and viability fetuses in cows implanted with clone or research embryos. Perform rectal palpations to evaluate reproductive status of incoming and backgrounded recipient cows. Monitor and implement the preventative medicine, nutrition, and reproductive programs and overall herd health of animals on the farms. Implement, monitor, and continue to improve the biosecurity programs on the farms. Monitor compliance of herd health and SOP documents relative to the export of bovine embryos. Perform tests and exams and complete paperwork for the interstate movement of animals. Examine and administer treatments to sick donor and recipient cows and calves. Perform special surgeries as necessary in joint and research projects (fetal removals, c-sections, etc.). Participate in an emergency/on-call weekend schedule on a rotational basis. Maintains a professional image reflective of Trans Ova s industry position. Follow Trans Ova s policies and procedures. Other duties as assigned by supervisor. Angell West is seeking a full time Staff Veterinarian for our busy ER/CCU.   Angell West is a 24-hour emergency and referral hospital in Waltham, MA, a small city 11 miles from downtown Boston. We are a satellite hospital of Angell Animal Medical Center, an emergency, referral, and primary care hospital that has been operating in Boston for more than a century. Our Waltham practice is ideally situated close to metro-west communities and those north and south of Boston, with high-quality primary care veterinary hospitals serving as our referral base. Visiting Instructor - Department of Information Technology (IT) The Department of Information Technology (IT) in the Allen E. Paulson College of Engineering and Computing at Georgia Southern University has a visiting instructor position for the 2020-2021 academic year. The home campus for the position will be the Statesboro campus, although teaching on the Armstrong campus may be required. The desired areas of specialization include, introduction to IT, operating systems, databases, data visualization, Python programming, webpage programming, and IT infrastructure. At Georgia Southern, visiting instructors normally teach 15 credit hours per semester, hold regular office hours, participate in service, and actively participate in departmental meetings and activities. We are seeking an experienced Sr. Process Engineer with knowledge of fermentation and downstream processes to support our Algae Ingredients business. We lead the industry in developing new applications and markets for algae-based products. Based at our Peoria plant, you will be responsible for the leadership and development for improvements in scalable and economical downstream processes.   RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide technical leadership and operational oversight for daily fermentation and downstream process operations, activities and personnel. Generate new procedures and refine existing procedures for fermentation and downstream processing related equipment; work on complex projects requiring advanced experience. Work closely with the Process Development Group and lead teams to develop downstream batch objectives and an optimization plan with the goal of achieving continuous improvement; work closely with shift supervisors and technicians to convey objectives and plans for optimizing and improving downstream processes for a variety of products. Identify and lead the implementation of opportunities to improve yields for each downstream unit operation; works with technicians and supervisors to implement yield improvement methods. Provide training for shift supervisors, technicians and engineering staff on fermentation and downstream unit operations. Oversee the data analysis on downstream batch processes summarizing key performance criteria; use trend analysis to measure unit operation performance and identify improvement opportunities; summarize data trends and use as tools to train, develop, and mentor others on fermentation and downstream process operations. Work with project engineers to define process requirements for new equipment installation or modifications for existing equipment; work with project engineers to review equipment installation and prepare systems for plant operation, which includes piping and installation diagram (P&ID) reviews and revisions, valve labeling, Pre-Startup Safety Reviews, development of standard operating procedures, training personnel, and providing oversight for commissioning and startup activities. Communicate with Operations and Maintenance department personnel to troubleshoot equipment issues and provide repair recommendations. Conduct audits and follow up on action required for compliance for Safety, Environmental, and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP). Exhibit strong leadership and commitment to safety culture; monitor operations and personnel activities to identify, correct and prevent potential safety hazards and improve safety efforts. Interact with outside partners, third-party service providers, process equipment manufacturers, and contractors on issues related to downstream manufacturing/production.
